Nanking now called Nanjing is a city on the eastern coast of China. Because of its location Nanking was a major exporting city, silk being one of the largest. Yun-Jin or, ƒ?oCloud Brocadeƒ??, silk was and still is one of the most popular silks in the market today. We used this Cloud Brocade idea in our Nanking carpet. Many of the motifs in the carpet are depicting the same cloud motifs used in the famous Yun-Jin silks.
